Changing muzzles and/or triggers on euro

I am trying to change the crappy muzzle on my alumimium 28mm euro to a hammerhead open muzzle. I have removed the pins holding the current muzzle in place and I have tried to to remove the muzzle but it's really in there.:vangry

I would imagine that the glue used to hold it in is real heavy duty stuff, does a specific product used for the barrel need a specific kind of techniqe to remove it? I was hoping that there was a way to remove the original muzzles and triggers to modify this lump of metal and plastic into a tool of real fish killery:martial

Advice please, I almost got the claw hammer out on it last night!

i broke my handle trying to do the same thing, now that i look back, maybe if i was left in hot water fr some time it could have been a good idea.. since its an aluminum barrel
 
I don't know what type of gun you have, but on my Sporasub, the muzzle and handle each had an internal expansion plug attached that sealed the barrel. You had to remove two screws from the outside, but then you had to unscrew another screw that relaxed the internal expansion plug, then it came apart. On the muzzle, the tension screw was in the very front of the muzzle facing back into the barrel. On the handle, you had to remove the trigger mechanism to get at the tension screw. Don't know if this is your situation or not.

Hi There,

I replaced the muzzle on my old Apache speargun to the newer Comanche muzzles.

The head was held in place with one screw , but what really held it in place was the 'pressure' or something. I could feel the muzzle pulling back tryign to stay on the gun, and i could only work out it was some kind of 'vaccum', like a sucking effect causing this. I eventually put a thick screwdriver where the 'round' rubbers go through and pulled it. IT popped out !!!!!! :friday

Also, it was easier for me to pull out the handle first, and then the muzzle. I had to change the handle-trigger part as that was damaged too....Once again changed to commanche handle-trigger mech, but boy is that a crap piece of equipment !!!!!:rcard It has jammed on me already once and was a bad job unloading the 22cm 20 mm rubers from second notch on 100cm barrel apache-commance amalgamation crap piece of stick :head

Thanks for the advice, it is always better to learn from somene elses mistakes I guess. It looks like i am in real danger of breaking the trigger mech, and that uis the good part of the gun. After reading this I have decided to sell this gun to my mate who is just getting into spearing, it will be ok for him.

What an excuse to get a new gun:friday Mr.Wong is on the top of the list!!!! Top tools of "fish killery"
