What's up guys, I'm new to the forum and need some advice. I searched my question but can't seem to find an answer. Anyways I bought a hammerhead 90 off Craig's and I need to replace the bands. I had to people telling me they don't care for the red bands(or hammerhead bands) bc it stretches out pretty quick. I wanted to know if there's upgraded bands or are they pretty much all the same? I heard rob Allen bands are good? I called a shop and the guy said there is upgraded power bands but idk if he was just trynna sell.

Whats up brother, get bleutec bands they are great. durable and powerful.

What's up bro. I'll see if the shop carries it. I want new bands but if there's an upgrade then I might as well spend a little more to get the best. Also should I go with 16 or 5/8? I assumed that thicker bands would have more power but I read a post somewhere that's not totally true

hey, you do not want to much power then you ll get shaft whip, in theory thicker band more power, but you got to factor in how much can your gun take is it going to make your gun flex and will all the power be directed into the shaft. Always best to experiment try different lengths and different thickness to see what works best for you.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I'll prolly just go with the 16 then since I have a 90cm and get a bigger gun later. I'll call and see if they have bleutec. Thanx man

I believe RA bands are sourced "state-side" (i.e. from the USA). They are good, powerful and long lasting.
I got my last bands - very fresh rubber - from spearitco.com. They are in the USA & they sell from their own website & ebay (prices vary between the 2!). I keep spare bands in a sealed, air-less bag in the freezer to keep them fresh.

When I replaced the 16mm band on my RA90 I switched to 19-20mm (i.e. 3/4") RA. While it was likely more powerful it was also much harder & more painful to load for 2 years after which it softened up a bit & was easier to load. The extra power provided no discernable benefit (an RA90 with a 16mm bulk rubber band is very powerful anyway) but did have significant draw backs for me. Sometimes "less is more".

Sometimes less is more. That's s good point. Funny you put the bands in the freezer bc my lil bro does that and I was like ahhh where'd you hear that crap haha. Guess I'll be doin the same now. Anyways thanx for the info man I'll be definitely looking into it.

"...Rob Allen also sells the same latex tubing as me. He calls it Rob Allen latex tubing. It is made by Primeline Industries. It is the best in the world. I just call mine, “Primeline Industries Latex Tubing..."

Here is Primeline's spec. sheet: http://www.primelineindustries.com/latex-tubing-specsht.htm
