I'm going down to the Channel Islands in October for lobster season. I want to book my dive trip now but I'm not sure what boat to choose. Since all my dive buddies wimped out on me, I'll be going alone, so it really doesn't matter what boat I'm on. I just would rather choose the best boat, of course!

Any help anyone can give would be appreciated. So far, it's between Truth Aquatics and the Peace boat.

Thanks in advance!

It's been a while since I was a regular on those trips. That said, I always had the best luck aboard the Peace - especially when going to San Nicolas Island. I found that the service from both companies was comparable. Good luck!!!

Thanks Calicojack!

Just curious: Did you use the hot tub onboard the Peace? I've heard that this ammenity is worth a trip on the Peace all by itself.

Thanks again,

Well, it sure makes it nicer when you are putting on your cold, wet wetsuit the morning of the second day!! But by the afternoon of the second day the crew turned off the heaters and started circulating fresh sea water through it so we could use it as a live well to hold all the lobsters we had brought aboard. I don't seem to recall that anyone was upset over the loss.

That would be a good practical joke if you could convince someone to jump into the hot tub/live well, thinking it's really a hot tub...

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
