Cheap Accomodation Plymouth ??

Possibly going to be doing DMT (Diver Medic Technician) in DDRC Plymouth very soon. It's a 2 week course and work is thin on the ground at this time of year so hotel accom is looking too expensive. Any suggestions from locals on cheap accom options / room or apartment rental close to Derriford Hospital? Really need to get it done but looking too pricey on the accommodation side of things...arrrrgghhh!!
