It's a great friday my guys (gals?)!

My cheapo LED Lenser AA battery torch is a bit lame for night spearing, and as winter has officially arrived I'll be needing something for the dark afternoons this side of the world.
Any serious contenders in the XTAR D26 1600S price class?

Specs look good to me and the price is ridiculously low from HERE .

Cheers for tips!

Any cheap chinese one from ebay with a magnetic switch will do.
Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/154512447115?hash=item23f9a8d68b:g:htwAAOSwqcxg2olA&autorefresh=true
(I own this one - no complaints). It has a parasitic battery depletion when turned off so make sure to unscrew the rear cap a bit to disengage battery when storing. I used a 'real' flashlight and the only difference is the length of the magnetic slider - a real Salvimar one was easier to modulate as the slider was longer. Cheers!

Damn that's cheap! Paid 5 times that and ordered the Xtar already. Read some decent reviews on some other sites. Hoping the stated specs will be more truthful on the Xtar, water gets really clear here in winter so the extra brightness will come in handy. Probably have to pick up something like what you linked for a barrel mounted light tho, thanks!

It takes 22650 battery or 18650 with an adapter. It is so powerful - it can blind you!
