Having been on a couple of dives where I got to my destination and THEN realised I had forgotten something, I now use a checklist. I thought I would list it here for people to use/plagiarise/amend as necessary. I have different boxes dependant on whether I am doing a shore/boat dive and whether I am staying overnight in the (rather comfy) boot of the car.

I have a similar approach when preparing and lay everything out on the garage floor so I can visualize it then put it into colour coded bins. Its then ready for a trip bar the wet suits which hang up until departure. But forgetting something is the worst. The boat is separate and always ready to go so I just hook up and load the gear boxes, ice, bait, ect, then get a good nights sleep.
