I wish you all the best.

Welcome from Texas! Dive safe & shoot straight.

Hi!!!!!

Finally! Hard to believe but in Chicago, with You, there is four of us now

But that's no problem, we go to Wisconsin and then we make some crowd!
Lot's of spearos there. Few more guys in Illinois, Woodstock, Peoria but for some reason Wisconsin is THE place to be - two annual events - winter ice diving and summer Freedive Pallooza at Lake Wazee. Beautiful scenery, 300ft of water and great people to hang with.
Your Welcome

Peter

Welcome to Deeper Blue which has been great source of info for many, great people to dive with. This site I credit for saving my life from drowning from a shallow water blackout 5 years ago when I was in the Philippines search the forums you will find lots of good info

Great stuff...any date for that summer freedive?

Here is the link to the summer event- we also post when we are going to Lake Michigan in the summer and sometimes- will hold mini spearfishing events- nothing special, just letting people know, When we get together. Careful spearfishing in Illinois though- they have strict regulations and pretty much don't allow it on any lake you would like to spear. Basically if its clear enough to spear - it's probably not legal (in Illinois). BUT!!! you're in luck. There are great spots in Wisconsin not far from the Ill boarder like Lake Geneva and Golden Lake- Pretty much any lake in Waukesha county. Know the fish you can and cannot shoot- be Safe! Ask lots of questions.

Yo Tim, do you sell spearguns? By the way, don"t let those Wisconsin guys take you to "Camp Crystal Lake" :naughty You've seen the movie, Right? :duh Jason with a speargun :blackeye - :friday

I'm working on the company everyday and will launch soon...

Welcome Spearguns.com! Defo check out the Wisconsin threads - v. active bunch of spearos & forum members. I think long time forum member Fondueset is in Chicago too (Lakeshore Drive area maybe?).

BTW Eagle, Wisconsin is a v. cool tourist place to visit yet is remarkably unknown in Illinois, let alone the rest of the USA. I always used to take visitors there when I lived near in IL not far from the Wisconsion border. Impressive place. The British equivalent - St. Fagans in Wales - is quite famous, and Eagle is at least as good.

Favourite bits include the German house built around a chimney designed for smoking pigs and the Scandinavian Sauna. It's like stepping back into the past (of various ethnicities) for a few hours.

BTW Anybody spear around Door Country, WI (popular visitor destination)?

Fondueset is on the other side of the lake- and a couple hundred miles to the north.

Old world is a pretty neat place that we used to take students on field trips too. It's also open in the winter time and you can cross-country ski from village to village. They even open up the old school house and sell hot chocolate to help you warm up. Lots of nice single track mountain biking trails pretty close to there as well.

For some reason I pictured Fondueset working on/near the Northwestern Campus (as a friend did some years ago) on Lakeshore Drive -- overactive imagination.

Yes I really like Old World Wisconsin. There are some good mountain biking and walking trails around Kettle Moraine nearby too. X-country skiing around OWW would be awesome. Although, we didn't need to travel to XC ski, I was able to XC ski out of my front door when I live in Illinois, across a playing field, 2 roads and into the local forest preserve - surprisingly hilly/lumpy so quite challenging - esp. at -40F.
