I was wondering if any of you chlorine lovers out there now how to deal with reapeated exposure to chlorinated poolwater.Ive had one to three pool sessions a week since oktober, and its starting to take its toll, dry skin,itching... cant wait for the ice to melt so I can get out into softer waters.

I'm probabaly stating the obvious here, but I always shower, including a good rub down with unperfumed soap, then moisturise with a pretty heavy duty moisturiser (E45) after a pool session and that seems to work for me.

I do have pretty sensitive skin, a few weeks ago the showers were out of order and I forgot to shower when I got home. I woke in the night with my face itching like hell.

Fish oil suppliments can also help to keep the skin moist.

As soon as I finish in the pool which can be for upto 3 hours 4 times a week, I use lynx skin contact shower gels which are more like a cream than a gel straight after the pool. If the showers are down then a soak in the bath with some radox bath salts does the job :)

It is also a good idea to take a shower before you get into the pool. That prevents that the dry skin and hair (and the wetsuit too) soak immediately fully with the chlorine water when you enter the pool, and it reduces the damage a bit.

Just use moisturizer without perfume and you will avoid the handbag problem. Make sure you use different kinds for body and face. The facial skin needs special care and a higher degree of moisture :)

I found that I need to take a shower several hours after leaving hte pool. I use I use olive oil soap my wife provides (soft) and smell a strong chlorine smell as soon as I step into the shower.
The only other thing that worked for me is taking a 20 minute steam bath immediately after leaving the pool (sadly, not available at either pool I use now)

you might be on to something there,it has been exeptionally cold for a long time now,but I guess its a combination of several things,I have been exposed to alot of concrete dust at work aswell (yes I wear a proper mask). But the smell of chlorine kindof lingers, espesally in the shower I have a few hours after...
I was thinking about making this colongne series, calling one "the freediver" with a slight smell of chlorine, and then "the spearfisher" with a mix of seawater and neoprene... :D
