Chronic sinusitis & endoscopic surgery

Damned straight it does! I don't snore any more and haven't had a sinus infection in over a year. And I can dive. ;)

I want to have that done. I have permanent probs with sinus and tried giving up wheat and dairy, it helped a bit but not entirely.

I have a deviated septum on the left and equalisation is always a challenge. Sarge how long did yours take to heal?

I had a rather extensive procedure. My insurance company paid for it because i was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. In other words, I snored like a steam-driven chain saw! So the doctor went in for three hours. She drilled out my sinuses, straightened out a deviated septum, removed my tonsils, adenoids and some fat from my throat. Then she took off my uvula and trimmed up my soft palate. I was supposed to be in the hospital just one night. LOL. When the doc came into check me the night after surgery, her comment was "Well, you're obviously going nowhere!" So I was in for an additional night's observation. However, I went home the next day. Total recovery time? I was pretty good after the first week but it really took three before you could say I was back in sharp form again.

As far as the sinus part of it was concerned, I had to keep the stints in my nostrils for a week. That was a nuisance. But when those were removed, it was just a case of getting my blood supply back up to snuff. I felt fine but I was a bit weak.
