We wrote a short guide at freedivingfinland.net on the essentials of getting around to CIPA in Nice for some serious freediving. If you're interested, have a look.

At least from a fennoscandinavian viewpoint, Nice is a very good spot to do some diving, be it recreational or more serious training and we have a long tradition of going there. It just may be some work figuring how to get there, at least if you don't speak french. This should get you started. We've also attached a nice map with the essentials you need.

very interesting initiative... only one comment...

you mentioned "Maison du Séminaire"... and wrote "fairly cheap"...

this was true last year where you paid 20 € per night... those cheap rooms are no longer available and minimum prices are now 65 €... :waterwork

Thanks for the info, I think that Teppo's (who wrote the article) experience from there are a couple of years back.

Were you at the CIPA's last July with the National Team of Finland ?

No, I was there last week and that was my first time.

I think Teppo must've been...

Wll you be at the CIPA Open next week ?

Will there be some of your compatriots ?

I won't. I'm not rich enough to be traveling there every two weeks :)

I couple of finns have enlisted, from the list I can see Timo Kinnunen and Johanna Nordblad. Both are very good divers, in fact the best we have for each gender :)

Yes, I was there last July. That was not National team, we were on AIDA trainer course, however some of us have been in National team.
I believe I know many French divers from their face, but not by name, maybe you too.

Then I must have met you :wave ... I was also completing a Trainer course (very modest : 1 * only...) I spent 2 weeks from the 20th of July to the 1st of August...

I played the guinea pig with you : I was supposed to be one of your students at the sled and François told me in French to make typical beginner's mistakes (head backwards, body unrelaxed :duh ,...) in order to trap you :D ...

My neighbour next door at the Maison du Séminaire was Haaico the multi National Dutch champion...
