Is it ok to use tinted or even mirrored goggles for static or dynamic performances during a competition?

Thanks,
Jay

Yes for static and dynamic you can. Only for Depth stuff you may only use clear goggles.

I would have thought that tinted goggles are not a good idea as you cant see the physiological recovery of the diver when he surfaces from his static (normally you can see a reaction in the eyes).

Just a thought.

That does not matter for static with the new rules. They don't need to see you eyes anyway, just your ok signal, your "I am ok" phrase and you also need to take off the goggles so that takes care off that.

There is no samba stuff anymore , so even if you keep your eyes like you just shot up some heroine ;-) :naughty it does not matter.

For depth it is a different matter since there the safety at depth needs to know if you are still ok or not in order for him to be able to react in time.

thanks for the info Glenn.

What is samba? Is it an acronym or something or

This isn't the first time I heard it but like a good time to ask

Samba is the same as LMC (Loss of Motor Control) which you get when your oxygenlevel is too low. When you have a samba you shake (minor to heavily) like an epileptic stroke.

Thanks for the explanation.
