I was out biking today and checked out many spots on Monona. The lake has, finally, gone clear! Vis on the southern half was better than up by the isthmus, but is was good all over. I imagine it will be even better by the weekend as those little buggers keep eating away and cleaning it up.

I also made a stop by the outlet- which has vis once again. :) there were no less than 2 dozen musky, 2 hundred carp, and more panfish than I could count- can't promise how big they were. I don't know if I would eat the panfish from right there, but it would be a great place to put some serious hurt on the carp population right now.:martial

YEEEAAAHHH!!! Good News Jon!-- I will probably swing down there on Friday- Regardless of the weather- Unless it is lightening. :martialOr/and I could go on Sunday. I have the whole weekend off. I'm wanting to break-in my speed stringer. See if it can stay attached to my float rofl

Anyone want to go with me Friday Morning till Early Afternoon? I'll probably be looking at getting in the water around 8:30-9am - As long as there is no Lightening.

TASS? Good place to break in that New HammerHead of yours.

Sunday might work for me. Saturday is already spoken for- ballet recital and kid's birthday part.

I'd go with you Friday but my kids are still too small to get in and spear with us. ;) We might stop by and cheer you on if you decide to go.

Jon

If there is no Thunderstorm- I'll be in there- I think Tass has Friday off- and He just got a New HammerHead 75cm Yesturday- So, Maybe I can talk him into going too. But I can do Sunday too- but it wouldn't be till about noon. Saturday I'll be at Geneva. I'm excited to hear it is starting to clear up- that means other lakes will follow.
Friday- I'll leave the ones infront of the outlet alone - until you guys get there- so you can get a better view- If you decide to go there and cheer me on. :D

well depends what time you will be home friday as long as we are out before 6:00 i can go :martiali know youll need the help LOL

I dont know about you guys, but its snowing like crazy outside here. That combined with all the rain we are supposed to get this week will probably put the kabash on my diving for at least another week. Oh well.... :head

Heading out to some CLEAR water right now...Gonna kill me some GIANT carp hopefully - My job for the day cancelled...Could'nt schedule another on such short notice...So I'm goin' spearfishing!!!

If anyone see's this and want's to go PM me within' 45 minutes of this post...I'll check back. Lately solo dives have been the norm for me...:head

It's gonna be Golden or Geneva....Possibly Moose...But I'm going to one of them no matter what...Will post!

Looks like Library Park on Lake Geneva - Close to home for me! Besides I gotta chance to smash my 13 1/2" "Contest" crappie there too! Not to mention a state record carp came outta there too!

See ya...I'll check back...Khel? (probably working)...Anyone?

A few of us went out spearing on Mendota last Sunday and the vis sucked ever where- we hit 8 different spots around the lake, by boat, and they were all bad. Fish were almost non-existent. The coolest siting of the day was by Unirdna- he found a huge dead bass with a bluegill stuck in it's throat.

Water temp was 48F.

Thanks for the info JON...I have to get up there one of these days before the vis is shot for the warmer months...I'm about 1 1/2 hours away.

I hope the vis gets better for you guys up there (Madison) soon...It's nice to have a "next door" lake that has vis and fish...I'm lucky to have Lake Geneva so close to me now...But the damn boat traffic can be INSANE! I'm gonna put a HUGE dive flag on my kayak later this year in addition to always carrying my"float flag"...Damn pleasure boaters! It's like they put it on "cruise control" and just pay NO attention to the FRONT of the boat! :vangry

Are you gonna make it to the next "outing"? I hope the vis will be good!

See ya around! I gotta get going...Geneva Bay is calling!!!! I'm on the hunt for "Big Feesh!"....:martialAnd I'm runnin' late!

I'll let you guys know how it went later tonight! I'll be lucky to find 48* water....Brrrrrrrr! :mute
