Since my house is in Virginia and it's so far inland I was wondering what spearfishing locations are closest to where I live? Being fresh or saltwater.

Welcome to Virginia,
Freshwater spearing is illegal here. The saltwater line on the local rivers is 301 on the potomac and 360 on the rappahanock but vis is so bad I've never heard of anyone hunting there. Realistically your looking at heading to the coast. Sent you a pm if your intrested in pool training give me a call.
