Clubs and buddies - Devon/Cornwall

Hi everyone

I have been slowly getting into spearfishing over the last 12 months. I got a gun towards the end of last summer and so far I have loved every minute of it. Even though I haven't actually caught anything yet. Even though I've had a few get away....rookie mistakes basically

Anyway, I was just wondering what people think I should do in regards to getting better. Should I join a club and if so can anyone recommend one please ?

Also does anyone fancy having a buddy that may be they could show some tips etc too. I live in Tavistock, Devon.

Every dive I've done so far has been in north cornwall. Haven't explored plymouth area yet....but plan to soon.

Don't know much about clubs in the Plymouth area but I'd be up for going out for a dive. I live in Plymouth and know the area reasonably well.

My partner and I did a freediving course in Newquay around May of this year. However apart from swimming pool sessions and the occasional dip in the sea I've done less than I'd like. I've not done any spearfishing before being more into just practising depth and time underwater. However if you fancy meeting up to explore some dive sites that would be great.
