While watching the AIDA Team World Championships 2008 in Sharm-el-Sheikh I complete forgot that in the same time there was also the CMAS 1st European Apnea Championship in Antalya, Turkey. It finished today.
There were three disciplines: dynamics, Jump Blue, and experimental speed apnea 100m. Jump Blue (also called Cube) was won by the local competitor Devrim Cenk Ulusoy in a new world record in Jump Blue: 159.54 meters. Frederic Sessa, French champion, won the DYN discipline with the performance of 200m. I know nothing about the speed apnea results - on the competitions website there are currently only the results for the Jump Blue discipline. There was also a live broadcasting of the event on the Turkish TV TSSF and is available online at TSSF page, but I cannot view the stream just now, so cannot report any details.
