Hello everyone! This is not even a question because i lack the knowledge/experience to formulate something worthwhile, but to all that know better here it is:

Does it make sense to make a mouthfill at the begining of the dive and as you reach 30>40mts swallow the "clean" air an then make that last mouthfill with the more co2 air from lungs (that depth is on my experience the last good one to make a mouthfill)

So pick up the idea and see if it makes something!

What do you think?

It doesn't make sense in terms of CO2 but in theory if you dive with less air in your lungs (since you will be isolating your throat/mouth) you should get a quicker DR so it might end up being marginally better in terms of conserving oxygen.

In practice I think the difference would be too small to be of any significance.

Maybe you can wear a massive mask and start filling it with air, then take it back in on the way up lol

Swallowing your mouth fill is not the same as breathing it back into your lungs and being able to make use of the clean O2. You are more likely to just lose the mouth fill and then lock everything up in trying too hard to retrieve it, then being too deep to equalise. Concentrate instead on using your mouth fill to equalise, not to gain extra O2. In my experience you don't need the O2 to gain extra depth but you do need sweet equalisations.
