Hi All

Did our first dive of the season on the Atlantic side last week. In winter, the NW wind cleans up False bay, and we get dirty water on the Atlantic Seaboard, but it all changes with the arrival of the summer SE winds.
We took a boat out to a favourite little reef called South paw, and jumped in for a quick 45 minute session in beautifully clean but cold water.

I was diving with a video Cam, and was joined by Roger Horrocks with stills and Paul Winter. Apart from a pair of playful seals, the dive was spent enjoying the clean water and getting the 'senses' tuned for the ride back to summer!!!! Rock n Roll!!:friday
Pics of me ( camo suit) and Paul ( Green suit) were shot by Roger Horrocks, see his awesome site at www.rogerhorrocks.com

Regards

Jeff:)

Wow Jeff!

How's that viz????? How cold is it then? Great photos, just stunning!

bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have only ever dived once in water that cold, and that was in the autumn in the Med, wearing a 5mm+5mm... was ok in the water but getting back on the boat and bearing the cold wind on the way back... no thank you!!!

Will check out Roger's website now.

Jeff, did you see the photos of all those tiger sharks in Durbs??

MIGHT be in SA in December, so will shoot down to Cape Town to do that long awaited shark dive. hopefully we can meet for some fried snoek and chips :)

We dive in water down to 8 degrees in winter wearing 5mm suits for about an hour dive time. Don't get quite that vis or that wonderful blue colour. Nice pic's.

Dave

Coldest I've been in was Pavillion Lake, early spring, 5mm and what was the temp, Amphibious? 3 degrees? Now that I think about it, the viz wasn't the greatest, kind of a milky blue.
