Hey everyone! Just checking to see if anyone goes cold water freediving in the long island/NJ area this time of year? I'm going to start doing it but would like to have a buddy or some tips. Thanks

Check out this forum: https://spearboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=71 It is for spearing but if you join you might get some answers/info. I can tell you (I live in NJ) that the water is dark here and I have absolutely no desire to get into it. I used to spearfish in Rod Island (Beavertail State park) where visibility was sometimes acceptable but it is a very long drive.

You can try reaching out to local diving or outdoor sports groups on social media or online forums to find like-minded individuals who may be interested in joining you or sharing tips.
