Anyone know of a good site to buy some warm socks? The package on www.spearfishinggear.com that I want to buy only comes with a 5mm sock. I really need my hands and feet to be warm, if not, the rest of my body will be cold. I need at least 6mm, my feet get cold easy.:rcard

I need some good warm gloves too, also at least 6mm. Camo would be nice but not completely necessary.

Thanks,
Chris

Open cell socks are the answer for you my friend. A 5mm open cell sock will be easily as warm as a 7mm nylon-lined boot.
Peace,
Erik Y.

I just happen to have those exact same 5mm OMER socks that you were looking at and they keep my feet warm just fine. I also have 5mm socks from Elios and they work very well too. As you can tell from my picture I am not diving in the tropics and they have worked out well for me.

If you get opencell socks be carefull. I had a set and my feet would slip around in them something horrible. Next pair I bought I made sure were nylon on both sides. They still kept my feet toasty warm, and I could actually walk to the divesite in them!

I dive on the BC Coast and only use 3mm. found 5mm to squishy. and I dont; notice much of a difference in time it takes untill my feet are cold. using the standard omer socks

roflThat's pretty damn funny Jon. Thanks for the help guys, I couldn't do it without ya. Socks arn't really TOO expensive so I'll just keep the socks that come with the package and see how they do.

Cheers,
Chris
