I'm in Colorado and looking for a freediving buddy for Carter Lake, Cherry Creek Res, Louisville Rec center, etc. I have a Colorado State Parks annual pass, so all park fees are on me!

Thanks,

Nate

i just moved here from ft. lauderdale, fl, and am going through a bit of withdrawel. i live in broomfield; work in boulder... would definitely be up for training.

Colorado Freediving

Anderson,

Thanks for your reply! How great it is to have other freedivers in CO. I sent you an e-mail over your private account.

Anyone else in Colorado? We'd love to have you come along. My State Parks pass is good for the entire car load.

Nate

i still think you're crazy for expecting my thin blooded florida a$$ to hop into one of these nipply ice buckets you call reservoirs!

talk to you soon.

Aurora Res

Anderson,

I checked out Cherry Creek Res today. It looks like there might be 3 feet of vis.

Aurora Res is supposed to have better vis., and there is apparently a crashed airplane at the bottom! That might be worth checking out. Strap on the 7MM.

No wonder the water in Aurora tastes like aviation fuel.

Nate

hey, i'm a florida boy transplanted to the mountains. i need to do everything in my power to repress withdrawel.

I know what you mean. Ever do any river diving? I got into when I was in North Central Washington (also fairly high and "dry"). I went into some high mountain lakes, just pretty much to show myself I wasn't all THAT big a sissy about cold (But if I did it again, I'd FOR SURE get a wetsuit)
Then I started to rivers and creeks. There are a lot of places where a few feet of water comes blasting down through drops--often too shallow for kayaking--and you can just blast along in smoothworn troughs, even get launched out into air when the water falls. And there is even fauna down there. The first time I went in at Leavenworth I found myself looking at a snake swimming along the bottom. I still have no idea if there is a freshwater seasnake variety or I just ran into a repilian freediver out on a lark.
One thing I like, the water is unbeleivably clear in tarns. But COLD.

heuvos poquito

cold water and i don't mix! my water fix definitely needs to be salt based. but, i'm sure you've seen some pretty interesting stuff in rivers.

later....
