Just wanted to say and can't wait to get back to the water. I'm trying to figure out which forum relates best to my prexisting skill and give it a go. I've found out quickly how diverse and experienced the posters are here (worldwide). I'm sure many live on or very near the ocean/me I grew up on a fresh water spring fed lake in Wisconsin.
Current plan is to move to Exuma/Bahamas fall of 011 for 6 mth to see if taking it to the next level there is possible/will be spending most all my time exploring/free diving with out much gear and getting to know the locals and their culture.
So again which of the general forums would be best, I quickly realized intermediate Free Divers seem like competitors (tho I may be wrong), that's not a goal for me, but gaining more bottom time and gathering for dinner and exploring is of great interest and more importantly piece of mind.

Hmm, hard question, too individual.

If it was me, and doing what you plan to do, I'd look most closely at General Freediving, Freediving Gear and Training and Technique, second, General Spearo and Spearo Gear. Diving partners, both spearo and pure freediving are worth keeping up with, never know when somebody will show in Exuma.

The pure freediving forums do have a lot of competition subjects, but so much of it is directly applicable to the kind of spearo/sightseeing that you do in the Bahamas that I think they are very worthwile.

Stay on the boards, you might see me planning a trip as far as Exuma, summer 2012.

Thx Connor appreciate your tips & let me know when your headin' that way, I'm sure I'll have a great base of contacts, already been there twice, and have a pretty good taste of the area. When you say "spearo" what does that mean? Sounds like a slang.
