Combination Fins?

Hi Gang,

I'm taking a trip to Mexico this fall. I will be snorkeling a lot with my family and friends...but I will be freediving with a couple of guys while there.

I need to purchase gear and was hoping to get advice on fins... Something that I can snorkel in, but use for freediving to 10-20 meters.

I was looking at the Mares Avanti Tre and Superchannel. I'm 6'5, 225lbs and in good shape - regular jogging and cycling.

Any suggestions?

I started Freediving using the Mares Superchannel I had for pool training and just recently bought the Gara 3000 LD. So I don't have much to compare them to, but the Superchannel will definitively work for a depth of 10 – 20 meters and long surface swims/snorkeling as well…

Mexico sounds nice
