Hello

The Salvimar Natail 42-43 foot pocket fits me perfectly, but I am looking to buy some Carbon fins with a Pathos foot pocket. The dimensions of the 42-44 look similar, but does anyone know how they compare?

Thanks in advance...

Hi Lee,

Might be stating the obvious, but you really need to try them if possible or go with what you know.
Just like different brands of shoes, fin foot pockets will vary - even the slightest variation could squeeze too much or be to loose.
I have Pathos, Omer and Cressi pockets on my sets of fins and I have 2 different sizes...I found that 41/42 in one brand was snug (almost too tight) but their next size up 43/44 was way too big.

So best try for fit and if you can't, I'd go with what I know.

Good luck!

I have salvimar next fins 42-43 and i bought a pair of carbon fins with pathos footpockets and the 42-44 was too big so i got them with 41-42 pockets as they fit well although a little wide... The salvimar are just a little loose for my feet but really comfy so it depends on each person u just have to try them before u buy them
Go to any diveshop that sells pathos products and ask him kindly to try the footpockets and see what fits best.
Cheers.

I have pathos footpocket and ı can say that they are very easy to brake. I dont have any info about salvimar but i heard they are more compatible for havy duty performance.

Well pathos footpockets have harder rubber than salvimar so cuts may develop to rips... Plus they are designed by removing a lot of rubber to make it super light so yes they are fragile and most dont last more than 5 years if you are a serious diver but i dont mind the compromise for a lighter fin since i do alot of shore dives and have to carry my gear for some distance. And each footpocket has a weakness... Salvimar wont rip open because they are very soft but will get badly shredded on rocks... Pathos will hold up against some sharp rocks but if they do get damaged it might get worse with time if you dont fix it.
