I noticed some spearfishing suit manufacturers offer compressed neoprene versions of their suits.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of compressed neoprene when used for spearfishing.

It's not as warm and over time the buoyancy is more consistent, as it's already compressed

The advantage I suppose is that a new wetsuit is as buoyant as your old one.

I don't like it myself... I'd rather it stay thick and warm for as long ad possible and info have to add a lb or two initially and reduce my weighting over time, I will.

I know a Freediver that when he gets a new suit will put it in a bag and send it down to -40m for several hrs to compress it himself.

To each his own.
