Hi, I have scoured many threads here but I cannot seem to find an answer specific to my problem.

Did some shallom freedives last week in Brasil. Dove with a pod of Dolphins the whole day, which was amazing.....that that is not the point!

I had a head cold so was being careful and taking it easy.

I did maybe a dozen dives up to 15m, on one of the last dives I had trouble equalising...but got through it.

When I surfaced there was blood everywhere from my nose....I have had nosebleeds before but not like this. The nose bleeds have continued for the last week.

I have not dived since then but the problem is still there.

The blood is from my right nostril and I feel like I need to constantly equalise my right ear, clicking my jaw and yawning etc. Very anoying! No pain, just a little worried that I may have damaged more than a nasal capillary.

Any takers?

Daniel

Daniel time for a visit to the doc could be anything but if you forced an equalisation you could have had a reverse block on the way back up in any case equalising when stuffed up aint good according to Mr Pelazzari as he says you could be forcing the pathogens / infections up your tubes where it should,t go. But visit the doc when blood comes out your body and don,t know why

Cheers, that is what I thought someone would say straight off.

However, I am backpacking around the interior of Brazil right now and would prefer not to see a doc here- hard to find an english speaker/complex kinda story/moving all the time. Was hoping someone would be able to tell me what I need to do in terms of healing. Do I just need to wait? No point seeing a doc if there is nothing I can do about it, which I suspect.

There is not really much blood anymore, just the feeling that I need to 'equalise' all the time.

I know I should not have dived, but you know- DOLPHINS!

One more question: What does reverse block feel like when it happens?

Thanks for your swift response mate.

Hi Daniel totally understand the dolphin diving and would have done the same I have to admit I,m not sure what a reverse block feels like but would guess its like you haven,t finished equalising like if you pinch your nose equalise but keep the pressure on the tubes keeping them open but its just a guess.
don,t know whether its a wait and see or if it needs treatment.
Best of luck,
