hell! what do you think? sounds like they were geniunely looking for something to me.. why else would they be down there ?
Tin or treasure? I have no idea. I suspect some of the Spanish authorities are being over zealous trying to get some free money &/or having a dig after the recent battle of Trafalger celebrations. Mind you, leaving your gold & diamonds (if there really are any -- sounds like wishful thinking to me) at the bottom of the sea seems awfully careless/wasteful/negligent/lazy:duh. Alternatively, perhaps it could be looked on as the English returning to finish the work of earlier privateers :ko , or a salvage operation, perhaps on behalf of indiginous peoples of South and Central America and the Carribean:naughty :mute ? :)The Cornish have a long history with Tin... wreck bounty & salvaging too. I think they probably did nothing wrong (esp. compared to the people who would have "sourced" the raw material :( ).
