We seem to be behind in getting the new year forum up and running so here it is. Lets look forward to a speedy start to the spearing season. Time to start holding your breath on the lav again, in preperation.

~Nice one Si, as this will very soon to be my new 'permanent' residential home I thoughts I'd comment! Hope you're all good!
Those bloody Dorset buggers will no doubt be camping on my lawn though which cant be good for the liver....:ban:D

Happy New Year cornish spear people!

Im on holiday atm and when I get back Im starting a new job in... St Austell, Bit further north than I usually like to venture ;) Anyone got any tips for this area as I will be spending more time up this neck of the woods! Feel free to PM me if you do :)

Happy new year everyone (if a little late!)

I'm back at uni in Bristol now and i'm already missing the sea! At least i'll be able to get some pool training in up here once i've done these dreaded exams. I bought myself some gara 3000 LD's as a little leaving present for myself though, so it's all good! I can't wait to try them in the pool!

Bring on the Easter hols!

I still have some footage from the end of last year to edit. I could always put something together. Like a personal highlights of cornish spearing in 2009.

Nice one, that would be wicked.
Is it worth getting the old rod 'n line out or is there sweet FA inshore at the moment? I acquired some light spinning rubbish over the holiday and fancy trying it out. Not that I have the time mind :head

Laz - you're in cornwall, it's almost tropical there isn't it? Bass around every corner?! I've heard that Sennen is worth a go early in the year. Now, being a grockle I was either spun a yarn or potentially I was told the truth! Either way your chances are 50/50...

A coule of friends of mine are having a go tomorrow morn on the Dorset coast, you never know...

Good luck if you do venture out.

Get on in there Laz, what’s the worst that could happen.:martial

And YES gutshot top man with the camera, get that editing done.:)

As soon as i get a min i will pull out some footage. As for bass around every corner i have heard that there is some bass on the south coast here which the lads fishing from kayaks are landing.

Fearthespear,

Don't waste your time at Sennen. Porthemmet holds good sized Bass at this time of year. Its the easiest place in Cornwall to bag a Bass. During the summer it is just too easy. Its a well known spot by the locals but they won't talk about it. Took me ages to find but it is signposted. Probably a mistake to post but I have drunk far too much cava to care :friday

Porthemmet Beach
