Hey Everyone :)

New to the board and I guess kind of new to spearfishing.. well doing it properly anyways! I've done loads of snorkelling but never had a decent gun and the right gear till just recently.

Still no epic fish to tell of I'm afraid.. I have had a couple of bass this summer but only just over regulation size.

I'm so keen to get out there and hit some marks with some good sized fish.. only the vis has been terrible around Newquay (where I live) recently.. with all the rain and constant swell, and I never know whether its worth driving over the south coast cos I have been over there a couple of times and the vis aint always that great over there either.

It seems that as with most things its all about being in the right place at the right time.. tide, swell, wind, rain.. they all play a part! luckily for me I'm self employed so can usually get out when I want.. it's just finding someone else as a buddy aint always that easy either!

So to anyone out there in Cornwall..

- know any good marks?
- keen to hook up and shoot some fish?

Let me know... cheers! Jim

Ps. This is a link to my website.. if anyone has anything you'd like to add to it.. let me know :)

Hi Jim,
Happy '09. Give me a PM if ever you fancy buddying up for a dive. I'm mainly south coast and, like you, self-employed so pretty flexible.

Hi guys I am in cornwall too and usually quite keen to travel so a swim so another buddy if you fancy :D

im keen to buddy up and travel around abit to :) i go regularly to north cornwall to a tiny nearly unheard of place called port quin.

Cracking video there, Jim. I really enjoyed it.

Any more details about the boat and outboard? Make, model, price and so on? It'll be a fair way off yet, but I could see myself using something like that.
