I'm going to Cornwall next week for a couple of days camping and hopefully a spot of spearfishing.

Can anybody recommend any dog friendly campsites close to some good spearfishing ground?

Cheers

Hello Buster Lung

Trevedra Farm (01736 871835), near sennen is a great campsite and is dog friendly. Virtually at lands end so a long way but worth it, amazing scenery and view from tent pitches. Loads of coves and rocky headlands in that area and not too far from the lizard (bout 35mins). Me and podge have tried Kennack Sands and had some sucess, but there are loads of other spots in that area. There is also a campsite at Kennack i think but dont know about whether you are allowed dogs.

Cheers
Jim

Trevedras an ace campsite, theres some really good bass spots near Senen, and some really good diving in general. They get really busy so book ahead.

Hi Loveboater,

Me and Podge down that direction at the end of the month, have you any suggestions of spots to try around there? We had a dip at Pendeen last year but didnt see much due to poor visibility.

Sennens fantastic, great beach, good food, great pub, beautifully clear water - cant wait already!:)

Jim

Gwenver ( beach below Trevedra) is good, although it is a long walk down the cliffs. To the left of Senen harbour is usually bassy.
Logans Rock near Porthcurno, Gurnards Head to the north, to the right of Mousehole Harbour... Its all good really!
You really need a float near the harbours, and keep an eye out boats.
Watch out for tides off the headlands, in someplaces getting out the water can be tricky.

Cool, think we will have to give it a go. We've just invested in a float so just in the nick of time! Have heard the area around the habour at sennen was good, have to pick a quiet day to try. Also was a mousehole a few weeks back and though the area to the right looked fishy, lots of stringweed etc.
cheers!
