Hi all,
I just read this description of my reel, the Sporasub One 50:
" The Sporasub ONE Reels can be characterized by their reversible vertical winding and by their folding arm. The shape of these reels is particularly small and clean, in order to limit any disturbances while fishing, and reduce imbalances that other reels can give to spearguns. The vertical position, the winding roll, and the special “line holder” make it practically impossible for tangling to occur. The friction created by the wide surface area leads to the blocking of the drum, or it can be quickly opened to take advantage of the traction of the fish."
When I read this it sounds like it has a bunch of features and I wonder if I am missing somethjng, it looks like a simple reel (like most spearfishing reels). What the heck is "the special line holder"? And what do they mean by "the friction created by the wide surface area leads to the blocking of the drum, or it can be quickly opened to take advantage of the traction of the fish."?
I have not had a chance to take it out for a spin yet but reading this I wonder if I will rig/use it correctly...
I am not sure it really has a drag system other than tightening it, I don't even know if it goes into freespool after a shot is fired.
Thanks,
Gabriel
