hey guys,

just a quick question regarding weighting, how do you guys weight yourself for frc diving? At the moment im weighted to sink on frc from the surface with a good duck dive. Just curious how you guys weighted yourselves..

cheers

for recreational dives i am using with a 7mm - 5kg, 5mm - 4kg, 3mm - 2kg
of course it depends on your bodyfat,etc...
for deep dives i use 1kg or non

feel comfortable

but being negative buoyancy on the surface involves some risk and more work on the way up..

i usually start to freefall around 10m

For frc in 60-90 ft of fresh water, 5 lbs with a 3 mil suit + 2 mil vest, gloves and socks. I'm neutral about 15 ft in fresh water with this.

For no suit, 2 lbs or nothing, depends on conditions.

hey crew,

Just to clarify, the way im weighted at the moment is that if i blow all my air out i dont sink. But if i blow out to frc and do a good duck dive and three kicks i freefall. I think my issue is my lung capacity is about 30% larger then the average for weight and hieght. Before when i dived on an inhale with a 3mm suit wearing 2 and half full weights. i would still only sink when i got past 25m. Hahah at least now with frc diving i can freefall easier. 25-30m dives arent to bad the way im weighted still only sink at just under 1 m/s. Ascents arent to bad legs never give way completely.

Cheers guys
