So I got these, used, last night and there were mold stains on and inside one of the foot pockets essentially around the heel opening.

I brushed on some Hoppes #9 solvent and let it sit for a few minutes then brushed away on all the spots with soap and water (very stiff gun cleaning nylon toothbrush).

The staining remains, just curious if there is no longer an issue with this. Basically is it just a stain and no more mold / mildew?

What else should I do?

Sounds like fin rot, are there any white spots on them too?

I don't remember. I brushed it off pretty good, now its just some dark stains such as in bathtub caulking.

Just want to be sure it won't leave anything on my skin lol

Seriously I wouldn't worry about this. It is probably just someone's dinner spilt on them or something else equally silly. Just get diving and enjoy them :)
