I am thinking about getting the 2000HF's or the 3000LD's but I dont know what to do. These will be used for spearfishing but I thought that it would be appropriate to put this thread in here. They have sizes 10-11(44-45) and 12-13(46-47). I wear a 10 foot shoe and my actual foot is probably between 9.5-10. And I'm going to get socks either 3mm or 1.5mm. So I really dont know what kind of fin, size of fin, or what fin sock I should get.

Thanks alot!

I just had the same dilema last week, I ended up buying the 3000 LD, it is supposed to be softer so would be better if you cover a lot of distance spearfishing, i still didnt get to try it though,

I have the same size foot 9.5-10, and had a hard time deciding which fin size was right for me in the GARA 2000 HF until I found a SoCal shop which carried multiple sizes of the GARA 3000 & 2000's and had the chance to try them on (both models fit the same). I was using 3mm neoprene socks and the 10-11 size was a perfect fit.

Spearfisher1,
I have the same size foot as you(9.5-10), and I use the 2000HF Garas in 8-9 with no socks. It's a good ,snug fit though. If wearing socks the 10-11 should be a good fit.

Yesterday I found out that the Patagonia shop here in Cardiff has a pair of cressi gara 3000 LD's. They only had a 8-9 with I tryed on and your right trainwreck, they were snug. So I would get the 9-10 or 10-11. But I narrowed down my selection of fins. They are the gara 3000 LD at $125 on an online shop and $159 at Patagonia, picasso black teams at $160 online, and sporasub H. Dessaults at $119 online. I dont know what the foot pockets are like on the picasso's and the sporasub's, only the cressi's. And I am worried that the cressi's will be too soft after awhile.

I have the spora HDs - I think they run a little bigger than the Cressis. In terms of which to get - The sporas are nice - and quite stiff - the foot pocket is not as soft as the cressis so plan on socks for sure. The Cressis are very well thought of, my daughter has a pair of 2000s and I've spoken with very experience divers who really like them.
