Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has tried this mask for spearfishing? - I am interested i purchasing one and wanted to know your views, I have been experiencing problems with the frame of my current mask applying pressure onto my eyebrow area when diving:head. I am looking at upgrading my current mask anyway and I am looking for anyone with experience using this type of mask...

Cheers

Hey Tunny,

The cressi "scuba" masks as opposed to the freedive specific ones are great but of average volume, probably around 150Ml. The quality is good and if you are not diving deep (over say 25m) they will serve you well. They also allow for optical prescription lenses. I just bought the "ocean eyes" and am pleased overall, (as I said, bar the 150Ml volume which I consider too large)

BTW the pressure deal: try with the mask band high, low and in mid position on the back of your head. It sounds like you may have it too low? Sounds dumb I know, but trust me, it can alter how a mask feels.

Hi Azapa,

Thanks for your detailed reply, I have had a look into it and I think I am also going to purchase the Ocean eyes as long as it fits fine. I am going to a shop to try a few but I think this one will suit me fine, I can't see me going deeper than 25m anytime soon as I still fairly new to the spearo world.

Once again thanks for your information.

Cheers

Hey Tuuny,

I use Cressi Big eye's - it seem good to me, they have good all round vision, and makes life easier when your stringing a fish!

However, I would always try a mask on in a shop first though, I wouldn't just buy it over the I-net. Push the mask on your face and see if you think it might push against any part of your face when under pressure.

Hi UK Spearo and Azapo,

I went into a shop on my travels inland - Ughh! Tried on loads of masks and finally decided on the Aqualung Technica which seem to provide the best fit with low volume and very good all round vision.

Unfortunately I am only on dial up speed so I can not attach a URL as it will take forever (I am still down loading work emails) Thanks for the advice guys as always ask a question on DB and get some very good answers!

Feel free to take a look and tell me what you think...

Cheers

Ryan
