Hi Guys... looking for a bit of info on the comanche 75cm.. got the gun and it came with the black cord and spear..no line, crimps or bungee.. is there a way of rigging it by just using the black chord or will i need to get line crimps and bungee... also the central automatic line mechanism (as the manual calls it) is not joined to anything it just fell out when i touched it... as you can guess this is my first gun so any comments will be helpful...thanks

hello mate - use the search tab for gun rigging your comanche and you should find loads of useful info - i use cord not monofilament you wont need crimps for it - not sure what you mean about the line release is it broken? it should not fall off?

cheers rob... thought as much about the line release...from what i can see it should be connected to the pin inside... ive mailed subprof and sent pics... just waiting for a reply...

Sounds broken . It may be possible to dismantle the trigger mech & re-install the part (presumably the line release "tooth"/hook (this is easy on Rob Allen railguns, don't know about Cressi's though) but you should probably await a reply first. I seem to recall the Commanche has additional "auxillary" line clips - presumably to facilitate fast loading without using the automatic line release(?).

Apnea.co.uk sell mono-line & crimp kits at fairly reasonable prices (not sure if shipping might spoil that though - and the increased VISA security of their shopping cart is now a royal pain in backside ).

If time/money is an issue, an alternative would be to use strimmer/weed-whacker nylon or game fishing line, 1.6mm is about right for a euro-speargun - 1.5mm-2mm is probably the size range to aim for. Strimmer line doesn't have a strength rating like fishing line. If you have a colour choice I would go for black, failing that clear, failing that maybe *drab* green/brown or red (which supposedly appears grey to fish) If you can't find suitable crimps (e.g. in local fishing/hardware stores/on-line), it is possible to whip the end-loops using whipping cord & superglue to seal/reinforce it [Magpie posted images of this sometime ago].

Good luck

Thanks MrX... my brother is going to Spain next week he is gonna bring me back some crimps and mono...will let him know about the colour choices..would have went for clear myslef but will tell him black...have a crimper for electric wire should do the trick... looks like the hook is broken.. subprof are waiting for cressi to get back to them...if its a small job and I could do it myself think I might give it a go... will wait to hear from the first though...
