Three Cressi fin questions, What is the difference between the Cressi Gara 2000’s and the Cressi Gara 3000 HF’s (HF’s being stiffer than the 3000 LD’s.) What is the companies purpose and difference in the above two fins?; 2000’s to 3000 HF’s? And, as of Sept. 2009, are these fins and the Gara 3000 LD’s still all running one size big? So if I am a size 8-9, do I order all these in 7-8’s? And I think I’d like to stay barefoot, is the foot-pockets BEAUTIFUL in use and comfort even though in measurement it seems a little low at the heal? With no experience yet except web surfing, sometimes I think I wish I had a Mares foot-pocket with a Cressi blade:eek:) (I am going to use one of the above for surface swimming at times, and to 35 meter max in spear fishing, I am strong, swim like a fish, and I am in warm water in the Philippines, and THANK You Very much, Noble Metal.)

the fins cressi produce all have differing characteristics as you would expect. as you know the HF v LD is a stiffer blade v a softer blade. now getting that out of the way the difference between the 200HF and the 3000 Black are as follows.

- 3000 longer by about a bit (10cm off the top of my head)
- 2000HF is stiffer than 3000 black (what you are calling HF)
- 3000Black ia more of a medium stiff than anything else.

similarities are the footpocket.

the Cressi footpockets is still considered by many (including myself) as one of the mostb comfortable footpockets, if not THE most comfortable footpocket on the market and would have to be the most suitable around for barefoot diving.

for your requirements i think you will be best with the 3000 black.... mind you Dave Mullins still finds the 3000 LD fins the best even though is is built like a monstor and dives deeper than 99% of thje worlds freediving populations.

Wow, THANKS Men for that, Thank You very much, and after 15 hours of reading through the days, that is exactly what I will order, the Cressi 3000 LD's, and Thank you...

Men, in those Cressi 3000's LD's, (I want to stay barefoot), my real foot size is size 8 to 9, and I am in the Philippines, and have no way to try them; shall I order the fins in a size 7-8 ?, THANKS...

I would suggest order them as near the same as your foot size, only order one size over if you want to wear socks. On a new pair of shoes.. what size fits you most of the time? Here is another thought.. order them too small and you'll never wear them. If they happen to be a bit large, you can always put on a pair of socks.. even regular socks and still wear them.

Yes, get them about Your size.
FYI: Italian brands tend to cater more for narrow feet and the cressis have nice and soft footpockets. They are the most comfortable foot pockets I know in bi-fins. :)

Riding along with this thread for a bit...

I'm curious about the sizing on the Cressi Gara 3000 LD - for those of you that have them, can you tell me the fit with a 3mm sock?

My problem is that I am on the "cusp" between sizes (for shoes I tend to run a smidge over 11), and with socks, I'm worried that means I need an 12/13 in the Gara. I'm torn as to whether the 10/11 is a better fit with a 3mm sock (most people say "order them your regular size if you wear a sock), but I'm scared to get them too tight...

Also, Amazon has the 10/11 for $111 right now, and I get $4 overnight shipping. Strangely, the 12/13 is $170 , so I'd like go to the FLDS for that size...

Thanks in advance for any tips you have on the actual fit of the 3000 LDs!
