I am new to spearfishing and am about to by my first speargun. I have been advised to buy a CRESSI Geronimo elite speargun not to expensive and will last a good amount of time and shoots straight, is this right?

I will be freediveing around the southcoast uk off shore, wont get much chance to get on boats i don't think unfortunately, but i think there will be chance for bass, pollock, place, flounder, mackerel and hopefully plenty more . Was wondering what length of speargun I should get I was thinking of an 85cm but was wondering of peoples thoughts. If I bought an 85cm how far would would i be shooting accurately?

Thank you

An 85cm sounds great for you, cant say that I have actually tried out the Geronimo elite but most guns are pretty good nowadays!
You will need to get close to the fish you shoot, 1-3mt is a good range but I shot many fish at much closer range than that even!
Good spearos use stealth & cunning more than long range guns.

Hi Clark.I have 2 cressi Geronimo's I'm very happy with mine the quality is v good easy to load when you mastered the correct technique very accurate and balanced the elite should be even better .I have put bunggies on one when I re lined it because of a cut in the line I have a 45 and 75 the 85 would probably be ok down on the south coast.the 45 is v small but I love it in are low vis conditions and at night up here in north wales .best of luck in the new year.

picture of my guns was trying to edit them on to last post .check 11 Aug cresssi Geronimo 75 lot of in formation there might be helpfull.
