Hi Guys,

I recently tried out my new cressi sl 100 with tovarich kit shooting a 1.2 8mm spear.

The Gun shoots quietly and the spear flies!!

But 2 problems.
One the Big problem is the Trigger is crap, i will press it and there is a delayed response and the guns shoots to the left. I need to make it much more sensitive and responsive. The new model cyranos have a brilliant new trigger design. will the Cyrano trigger fitting fit into the Cressi? are there any kits or mods i can do to fix this?

Also The piston seems to have a lot of resistance like its orings are too tight, are there faster pistons? I have an airbalete and its piston is so much more fluid and springy.

Any advise would be appreciated, if i solve these 2 things then the guns will be perfect:thankyou

I suppose Ramon has such a kit.
You can change the piston with Mares Sten 13 mm piston.
Try Fork oil W10.

The trigger has an adjustment screw in the rear where it pushes on the transmission pin that tips the sear lever over for the shot. By screwing it in you eliminate any free play before the transmission pin touches the rear underside of the sear lever, but don't overdo it or you will have the sear lever starting to tip all the time and will have a hair trigger.

The inner barrel sits higher up in the "Cressi SL" than the "Cyrano", so I would not swap the triggers, plus there would be no advantage in doing so. Basically the trigger mechanisms in the two guns function in an identical manner.

Shooting to the side may be due to the front tied line, but you can check that by rotating the shaft at different angles in the barrel and see what happens when you shoot.

All pistons feel tight, but the seals on the piston determine how tight they are. You can change pistons if the mushroom tail ends are the same as your original piston, personally I would not bother. As Tromic says check your oil or add some, but I doubt the gun has no oil, unless someone forgot to put it in.

Study the instruction book, it tells you about the trigger adjustment.

I just found my Cressi SL (Superleggero) owner's handbook and I note that the trigger adjustment is not mentioned, but the capacity to do so is there as if you look at the parts diagram for the gun the trigger (code no. 3 600 95) is described as complete trigger assembly (trigger, adjusting dowel). The "adjusting dowel" is a grub screw at the bottom of a small diameter hole in the back of the trigger, accessible from underneath, and it is put there to adjust the trigger sensitivity.

Thanks Guys.

Do you think there will be much difference between the Mares and Cressi Piston. I am wondering if getting a pistone like the mamba would help.

The trigger screw is too tight to move, i guess i will have to let the air out and stick some fork oil in. should i get rid of the power reducer?

The Trigger makes a sounf from the spring compressing. I think the spring might be to tight or too long? has any one ever shortened this?

The Shooting to the right is becasue there is too much movement from my hand when i press the trigger(or too much trigger movement), the problem is solved by holding it with 2 hands.

Also have you heard of the gatillo trigger kit?

I doubt that your problem is in the trigger spring tension, if the gun is properly assembled. These guns have been sold for decades, so are well sorted by now and the trigger usually makes no noise, so something must be wrong with your gun. It could be that the return spring on the sear lever tail has tipped over by not being assembled with the piston pre-engaged in the first place. Doing that holds the top of the coil spring in a round recess drilled into the top inner side of the barrel while you reassemble the rest of the gun. If you don't do it that way then the spring tips over and this will cause it to bend and that will affect the trigger tension independent of air pressure in the gun.

Shooting the gun with two hands is what I have to do with high pressure in my guns (using a wet barrel), so maybe you have too much air pressure in your gun. Disassembly is not that hard, I have described the method in the sticky post at the top of this section, however the Cressi rear inlet valve needs a tool to undo it. You can either make a tube spanner (larger diameter than the Mares) or use a two pin wrench, the adjustable arm type that has a swinging arm that locks to provide a variable spacing between the pins to suit what you need to undo. The two notches in the Cressi inlet valve body are close to the rear of the gun.

I have not heard of a gatillo trigger kit, but I guess that it may change the diameter of the trigger transmission pin, same as the "Cyrano" which is actually an adaptor first used in "Apnea" versions and now used on all of them. I have never had any trouble pulling the trigger on my old "Sten" (you can see it in my avatar) and at times it has had very high pressure in it, so the trigger transmission pin diameter is not that critical in that it should not be responsible for the problem that you describe.

My advice is to dismantle your gun, then you will understand it much better and see that everything is relatively simple inside. You can then remove the power regulator by just omitting the bulkhead section and leaving the selector rod and cursor control knob in place, it will just not do anything when you operate it. Easy to reverse if you want to put the power regulator back in at some stage.
