Never been there unfortunately, but we have a few good forum members from the Black Sea (mostly Bulgarians) and their spearfishing stories are amazing: they told us about very big Leerfish (Lychia Amia) and Bluefish (Pomatomus Saltator), which are both very challenging fish to spear.
If I were you I'd give it a try.

Hi, actually I am from Ukraine. Crimea is the peninsula in the south of Ukraine surrounded by the Black Sea. I spend a lot of time there. What exactly would you like to know? Write here or send me PM.

Very nice, that Amet is from Ukraine.
As I am from Bulgaria, I can't give specific information about that part of Black Sea.

Spaghetti, you are right about the bluefish. But you are a bit misinformed about the leerfish. There is no such fish in Black Sea. The very big leerfish you know of was cought not here.
