I've no experience in crimping cable, eventhought I've been crimping mono for decades. I've to replace the cable in my sliptips and I do have the appropriate cable sleeves. Questions:

1) I presume that I can use my crimping tool, can't I? It's a carbon steel Hi-seas brand sold under many different names around the world.

2) Is there any difference in crimping techniques? Mono crimps you've to squeeze the eyes onto themselves, but cable crimps have round sections, instead of 8-shaped.

Any pointers?

You crimp cable just like mono, I use either double barrel or oval copper sleeves. Dont use alloy sleeves, as they will corrode very quickly in contact with the steel cable. Make sure the end of the cable is not sticking out of the sleeve or it will cut you!
