Custody!!

Finally closed off my custoday case yesterday, my two beautiful girls can stay living with me full time!!! "she" sees them half of each school holiday, BUT, she moves to the other side of the country today and has to spe nd the time with them near my home, so I can't see her bothering to do it. I find it sad their mother has no concern towards them, and therefore good that she's so removed. I actually slept last night....

Congrats to you on getting custody of your girls. Your very lucky because in the U.S. the wife almost always is the primary caretaker and gets custody. Then you get to visit them every other weekend and a few weeks during the summer break.

Congrats on getting the custody of your girls! That must be a huge relief, and I'm so glad that things worked out that way. Dallasdiver's right; the father almost never gets custody in the US, and visitation (same term as used for prison visitors, oddly) is extremely limited. I've seen firsthand how difficult it is for a father to have an influence on his children in those cases. It sounds like your family court system is a bit more fair. Good job!

By the way, when I read the word "Custody" in your thread title, I at first thought you had been detained by the police Glad that wasn't the case.

Thanks all for the thoughts, and yes Al, they do, thankyou.

And yeah usually the mother gets the main parental rights, but we had a good judge, and things went very well, almost agains't the tide to be honest, but in such a good way.

Here in Texas quite often fathers are getting their rights for custody and visitation upheld--mostly as a quid pro quo for the bashing deadbeat child support fathers are getting in the press, legislature, courts and now the corrections system. So...if'n yur gonna jail deabeat Dads then good guy Dads can get custody and protected visitation rights. All's fair.

Now I'll keep you in my prayers that you don't throttle the little darlings when they become teenagers. :blackeye
