custom monofin

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Since practically all monofins are hand-made either individually or in very small series, likely any monofin manufacturer will be able to make custom adjustments. Just contact couple of them with your requirements to get their quotes.

Can you give me the name of a few good monofin manufacturers? I haven't had much luck with a google search. I am trying to make myself a nice mermaid tail and I want a monofin with the shape of a fish tail:)

There is already a monofin available with a fish tail shape. I tried designing one in 2002 and it is extremely difficult. The neck must be specially designed and made from non-flexible material.

Check out trux's webpage about cool & weird fins. You will find the whale tail there.

Yes, there are several dolphin shape fins in the Weird Fins Collection and for example the Dolphin Monofin is quite inexpensive. There are also several other monofin manufacturers listed in the Media Base, though a custom fin of this type would be probably rather expensive: www monofin @ APNEA.cz

Otherwise, if you take 10 seconds of your time and type "mermaid tails" or other similar terms into Google, you'll get many interesting links, some of them pointing to manufacturers such as the MermaidRentals who did very well looking fins for many movies (incl. for example Splash)
