Custom Wetsuit - Am i too young to buy a wetsuit?

Hi everybody!
This summer along with my new speargun im also thinking of getting a new wetsuit!
I have my father's 5mm wetsuit but it's old and way too hot for summer, and i'm thinking of buying a custom pesca sub wetsuit in green camo and in 3 or 3.5mm thickness.

The question is, Im 15 turning 16 this April, im i too young to buy a wetsuit? (I don't think im going to grow any taller than i am) or am i wrong and in like 3 months i won't be able to fit in the suit, or not be as comfortable in it?

I don't think anyone can answer that. I never grew any taller after I was 16, but some people sprout up several inches. Maybe the height of your parents will give you a clue.

And of course it also depends on your means. If Bill Gates had a son, he could afford to buy a new suit every few months if he outgrew them. If buying suits will mean you don't go to college, then maybe its not a good idea.

Thank you for your reply! The thing is my mother is about 1.53 or 1.55 and my father 1.63; And I am over 1.67 (not 1.70 yet). But there was a great-grandfather of mine that was 2.10m tall, and my shoe size is 46 if that matters.

And sadly i can't afford a new suit every month

You'll probably grow quite a bit. Most grow in height mostly the next 2 years so you should get a suit that allows a bit of length increase. Given that you are going to use it in warmer waters it should work ok even if it is a bit short on the arms and legs. A good 3mm is pretty stretchy and should allow you to use it for a while. If you are going custom I'd order something a bit long on the arms and legs, but only a little.

Get a suit that fits you now. If you have normal proportions (height and weight) you may be able to buy a stock size wetsuit that fits very well, which should cost less than a custom suit.

If you don't get too cold, and you grow, you can cut them at the calf and have someone sew the edges.
