Customizing your Omer HF2 110cm

I'm trying to put a HH Reef muzzle on my Omer HF2, but would it fit??? I also tried to put a Omer HF muzzle on the HF2, but it won't fit!! The Omer HF2 seems to have a smaller barrel diameter than the HF or any other 110cm spearguns.... So, I can't even change the muzzle to a HF muzzle, or a Mako muzzle....

Has anyone changed their muzzle on the HF2?? If so, which muzzle brand did you get? What size?

Is the barrel diameter on the HF 28mm and HF2 25mm??? It's not stated on the Omer website or my instructional manual.... Please help....

It would be great if someone from Omer helped me out with this.....

Hi there. Sorry for late reply.

The Cayman HF2's barrel is 25mmOD in the muzzle end, while it's 28mm OD in the handle end. I don't know of any other commercial muzzle currently in production that fits in there.

But then why is it that you want to change your muzzle? The standard one works just fine on that gun.

what he said... the standard muzzle works fine, unless for some reason you want to run double rubbers and cant be bothered buying screw in adapters...

while we're on customizing the hf2, i polished down the track with 2000grit sandpaper and filled the barrel with expanding foam, to make it nice and quiet
 
@Spaghetti: Sorry for the late reply. But thank you spaghetti for your inputs.

I decided to stick with my stock muzzle after finding the screw in adapters to change my metal wish bone to dyneema wishbone.

I have a 110cm HF2 and this is my first gun, but I'm doing 50-60ft with 1 min bottom time now and was wondering if I could get a little bit more range on my gun....

I absolutely love my HF2 after changing the shaft from a 6.5mm stock shaft to a 6.3mm omer american shaft. The shaft speed is so much faster, but I'm not getting any range at all... It seems like I could kill anything from 1 meters to 2.5 meters distance, but anything further doesn't work....

Do you have any suggestions to set up my 110cm HF2 so I could reach the 15ft range with a smooth shot? Or should I simply start saving up for a bigger gun like the riffe or wong?

@johnnyP: I got the sanding down part of the rail, but filling up the barrel with foam???
You mean putting some epoxy or foam on the rail so its a little bit quieter right?

No, he means to fill the main barrel with lightweight foam.
Polystyrene is a good one to use, if you can remove the muzzle & trigger handle then you can force the tube into a block of foam until it is full.
Another way to buy a tin of liquid expanding foam & fill the tube with the foam but, it is not always easy to get a complete fill.
No power increase but a quieter shot.

FoxFish@ Thanks for your input! Thats crazy.... never thought of that. I tried taking the muzzle out but its so hard to take the muzzle out..... I might be able to get the trigger end out, but would foam to temporarily fix your flat tire work too? The can type foam?? Do you know what im talking about?

It might be OK - the stuff I have used is commonly sold in DIY outlets, it is used for sealing around window & thousands of other similar jobs = polyurethane foam.
Like I say I much prefer using polystyrene, you need to find a way of cutting out short pieces of foam the same diameter as your gun barrel & then push then in until full.
 
yea, spray tin 'expanding foam'. be careful with it though, very very messy... i think u can also get it in 2 parts (liquid which you mix together and they react to for a foam).

i used the spray stuff because i couldnt get the barrel plug out, so i just drilled it out and stuffed nozzle of spray down in the hole.

i put a 7mm RA shaft on as well, gives it more range. as for 2x18mm, that would be a mother to load. a single 18 would be enough. cut it short for more power.

if thats still not enough, then 2x16mm rubbers works well. i used this setup initially, but it was a pain in the ass having to load two rubbers each time, as you have to do it in proper order, load shaft properly etc...

atm, i have my 110 hf2 with a single 18mm cut to 70cm with 7mm shaft and 130 hf with 2x16mm cut to 75cm with a 7.5mm RA shaft. both shoot to the end of a single wrap no worries...

incidentally why did you want to use the HH muzzle? i understand it has 'band risers' but the shape of the HF barrels already pull the bands inline with the shaft.

i was also thinking about gluing some rubber on the barrel to add mass and keep it at the same density (rubber has similiar density to water). this should keep the muzzle from lifting and throwing off aim on long shots. not such a big deal with the short 110, but the 130 suffers a little bit if i dont hold it firmly.
