Good evening to all and sundry,
As mentioned in the title of the thread I'm cutting my teeth in the sport of free diving and have just embarked on a journey down the road of spearfishing. Long since tired of waiting for the fish to bite on my hook, I've now decided to go and haul them out myself, whether they like it or not.
This forum seems to be a wealth of info and before I post any threads which have been done to death I'll first look around to see if there are any answers to my multitude of questions. I do have to send out a word of thanks for the thread of the dive inn - scubastore. I was just about to spend some money there and although they might be really reasonable, I'm a bit hesitant to buy now after reading about their poor customer service. If anyone can provide compelling evidence to the contrary, I'm all ears.
On that point, I just looked at a Aqualung Micromask and found that it didn't seal well due to it being a bit too narrow for my face. I was leaning towards a Sporasub Mystic. Any advice. Fins wise I'm leaning towards the Imersion E-black as a nice fin to start off with, once again, advice and opinions please.
Living in Qatar where the summer (now) water temp is already above 33 degree C there isn't much hope for catching much so I'm taking this opportunity to improve my static breath hold. After two weeks of training I'm edging towards the 02:30 mark and working towards the 4 min mark by the time October comes.
Thanks so much for the great info and looking looking forward to asking and hopefully also answering some questions.

Welcome to the forum, certainly plenty to read but ask away any questions...
