What is this sampling talked about? i dont really understand whats it about. Read that 1 sec sampling was better for freediving and thats why i bought the D3. I wanted the Mosquito too cuz i Scuba too but im more into freediving... so lets say i bought the mosquito instead... whats gonna be the difference with it having 2 sec sampling?

Shed some light please.. Thanx in advance.

It means that D3 saves the immediate depth (and possibly some other data) each second, while Mosquito each two seconds. It is only important if you use to download the data to a PC and analyze your dives. In such case the D3 logs are finer. However, I find that the 2 seconds of my Mosquito are pretty sufficient and irregularities during the descent or ascend can be still seen pretty well. Sure, with D3 it is even better, but then again you can't use it for scuba.

I have got the mosquito, fine watch! the 2 second sampling is more then fine...gives you time, depth and surface time without touching a button!
For scuba it is good, it tels yoyu everything you need, just like the more expensive suuntos!!
Should buy the mosquito!!

Ps...aaahhh...one thing...you can get scratches on them easely!

First day spearfishing...big one:vangry

Hmm i see...thanx for clearing that up... so basically i could have went with a mosquito since im not really planning on downloading data.:head
Oh well its all good i guess!

Thanx
Zane..

You can scuba dive with D3 as well, just would have to use tables with it ;)

i can still return it and get the mosquito.. but im kinda liking the blue. I guess ill keep it! Wait... I also like the all black mosquito... i want both.. im confused:head

Does the new mosquito switch automatically from free to scuba after 5 mins? I think i read that the older software did that. Is it true? Thats also one of the reasons i chose the D3. I think i might exchange it today.
