Hi
I purchased suunto d3 and USB pc interface.
But I can not get it to work.
I put D3 in tr-pc mode. conect to USB, adn have SDM opened.

When I click Transfer I get error message: Operation timed out (99)!

I have installed SDM 2.1.5.

Does anyone know what is wrong?
Thanx

I to have problems with mine sometimes. I have the parralel port with the original computer interface. You should try cleaning the contacts after every dive and get any salt off. I put mine in a glass of fresh water for a while then wait for it to dry completly before trying to conect it.

Unfortunately this can be anything from serial or USB port problems, to a low battery in the D3. Most likely though, is a dirty or loose contact. I had the same problem with mine for over 2 weeks. Even tried another PC and that didn't work.

I thought I'd take the interface to pieces and look at that.....when I opened it, springs and clips flew out everywhere. It took a couple of hours before everything was back together again....and miraculously it worked!

Not something I'd recommend unless you like hunting around on the floor for tiny springs.

Hi

i had problems using the d3 with my pc in the beginning too. My problem was that the pc didnt recognize the serial2usb adaptor i have been using because it was automatically set to com7,while sdm recognizes the watch only at com1 (and couple more i think, but com1 4sure),so i changed the adapter com setting to com1 and it was ok.If you think that might be your case too i can be more detailed. I hope i can be of some help, take care, safe dives to all ;)

Howdy,
Had the same problem, corrected it by cleaning the contacts on the watch and the interface connector. Salt, etc. builds up on the watch and a fresh water rinse with some attention to the contacts helps..... FYI, I love my D3 and accompanying software.
