I have bought a D4 and loving using it, been using it for spearing so far and using for free diving for the first time this weekend :)

My problem is that the dives are now starting to add up and it wont be too long before the internal memory fills up and resets, hence im looking at the PC interface cable so i can keep a log of all the dives i have done.

The cheapest i can find it is £50 at the moment ! for a cable ! does anyone know somewhere i can find it for cheap or second hand ?

Thank you :)

hey Andy

I use the D4 myself and when i bought it i got a fair deal on it with interface
I will try and take it to a local electronics guy and get him to tjeck out if it is possible to make one for a better price
its a great thing to have you are going to be as happy for the interface and all the things you can with it as you are for the watch

Check this out : Smartinterface - Ihr Webshop für Tauchzubehör

I bought my D4 USB interface cable here last year and I'm very happy with the quality. Using it on a week basis since a bit more than one year, no problems to be reported.

Current price is 38€ (last year price was 25€, it seems to have quite lot of demand and the prices went up, still cheaper than the original one)

Cheers
Greg

I have also been using the Smart Interface for about two years to connect the D4 with my Mac. Works good with both the old OS and Snowleopard and Macdive.

Cheers!

Not sure if the D4 cable is the same as the one for D3, Mosquito and other Suunto computers, but if so then I bet plenty of us have one laying around at home, and may be willing to get rid of for little or no money. I just realized I have one too, and my Mosquito is unsable. I have, though, couple of friends with D4's or other Suunto watches, so before offering it online, I'll certainly ask them first if they do not need it.

EDIT: after looking at the D4/D6/D9 cable I see it is different than at the older computers

I built one for my stinger a few years ago. If I can find the instructions then I'll post them

Thanks for the response :)
Trux you are right the D4 has a different interface, my friend has the D3 and that has the same interface as the Mosiquito etc. Hoping to pick one up cheap at a dive show later this year.
