I am looking into doing an AIDA *** or SSI 2 course in dahab in mid June; can anyone tell me what the weather is generally like at that time of year - lots of pictures make it look really windy - is that a daily sea breeze and if so how do all the freedivers deal with it? dive early?
Thanks

The Blue Hole is almost always diveable. That's why we come to Dahab :)

We are based in Dahab, and yes it does get windy here... That being said, most of our dive sites are shelter by some form of natural protection. The blue hole is good to dive on almost any day. It is completely enclosed and though some times there can be some waves bumping you around, it is almost always good diving. The Lighthouse is also a nice diving option and diving is reasonably good up to 40 meters on most days (60m on calm days). Some windy days it is better not to dive at the 40m line here as there are often many windsurfers cursing around. As for the weather...the time you are planing to come here will likely be less windy in general. Summer is characterized by more frequent calm days. Winter tends to be the windiest time around here, but spring and summer are often better. Ive been diving for the last days running an instructor course and we have had nice calm weather. In June you can expect more of that. If you need more information send me an email - dean@worldoffreediving.net or check out our web site World of Freediving - AIDA freediving courses and training in Dahab, Egypt. There is a bunch of info on Dahab there. We will also be running AIDA course through the summer and you are welcome to join us for one if you wish. All the best,

Dean
