Hi,

Currently I'm looking for new Elios wetsuit for deep diving in Kalamata in September. I got 2 offers from Elios

1) Suit 1,5mm Nylon Superelastic lining inside / Smoothskin Black outside Neoprene Daiwabo High Density

it's the ultimate solutions, super elastic, easy to wear without lubes, super-comfortable, durable and reversible. (can wear on both side, depend from your needs) (low water-resistance)

2) NEW Suit 1,5mm Nylon S.Stretc inside / Superskin Dark Grey outside Neoprene Yamamoto 45 Freedown

It's the ultimate product born for dynamica apnea and competitions, very very elastic, Super-comfortable, extra-glide, 20% more speed than classic smoothskin, durable and easy to wear like a t-shirts.

I have never seen or use Daiwabo high density wetsuit. Better, I have never seen high density wetsuit, I have 5 mm heiwa-medium density and it's quite stiff, like an armour on me :)

I want to do deep no warmup CNF dives in it, so staying warm shouldn't be a problem, but I thinking about elasticity. It would be better to use Daiwabo HD cause there will be very little buoyancy change, but would it be comfortable enough to do CNF?

or should I go for 2mm open cell/superskin wetsuit? I think they have heiwa rubber with medium denisty.

thanks,

Matt

Hey Matt. I have exactly the same dilema. Which one did you go for, and what temp water are you diving in?

Cheers
Simon

In the end I went with 1,5mm yamatoto top and 1,5mm daiwabo bottom...

now i would go both up/down daiwabo hd.

thanks for the reply Matt, What reason for the decision? Was the Yam 45 too easily damaged? or did it compress to much during the dive?

No it was not Yamamoto issue...I've found Daiwabo really stretchy and comfortable, thus if it's HD (less buoyancy change) then the better it is for deep diving.

The main reason why I went for yamamoto was being afraid how good is daiwabo (i was conservative) :)
